"IT IS MORE THEN JUST KATYN"
A MESSAGE TO AMERICA AND THE WORLD
Princess Diana Lenska
Speech WRITTEN by Princess Diana Lenska
which became the resolution created by her and delivered by the Common Council to Washington and President Obama
"In light of the horrific tragedy of the death of President Lech Kaczynski, (who had been invited to the April 30th ceremony.) and his wife and 95 of the elite of the Polish government in a plane crash at Smolensk on route to a memorial to KAYTN, it placed this horrible injustice of 70 years ago in the world’s light. But did the world see what that light revealed.
Hitler declared war and without warning invaded Poland in 1939 destroying her historic cities. Of the six million Jews that Hitler and Germany exterminated, nearly three million were Polish Jews. NO NATION CAME TO POLAND'S DEFENSE SHE STOOD ALONE.
Stalin enslaved the Polish people putting one and a half million in work camps, mothers, fathers, and children. Stalin ordered, and signs the death warrant of the elite of Poland, her top officers and the intelligentsia. In 1940, at KATYN, in execution style nearly 22,000 of the top military officers and elite of Poland are shot in the back of the head and buried. It is covered up and all nations turn a blind eye.
Without a country, its people enslaved, its flag gone, released from Russian work camps over 500,000 Polish soldiers, pilots, paratroopers fight under various allied flags with the promise from America and Great Britain to help Poland be restored as a free nation.
At MONTE CASSINO, it is a blood bath from January to May with estimates of 250,000 wounded or killed. For months none of the allied forces could take the hill. In May of 1944, Polish General Anders and the Polish II Corps take Monastery Hill at Monte Cassino, Italy. They raise the red and white flag of Poland over its ruins.
The Polish army and all branches of their military contributed to many victories won during the Second World War, yet to this day it is still not acknowledged.
In 1944 at Yalta, the Polish people are betrayed. Poland is handed over to Stalin to be imprisoned under Communism for nearly 50 years.
It is 1945 and the end of the war, the allies do not allow Poland to be represented in the victory parade held in Great Britain. The Polish nation that gave its last drop of blood that America and the allied nations might be free is robbed of that precious freedom that is the foundation of America and all free nations.
The World rewrites the history.
Now 2010 arrives and it is KATYN all over again with the martyrdom of Polish President Lech Kaczynski, his wife, and 95 of the elite of Poland in a plane crash, as they are en route to attend the 70-year anniversary of the first of Poland’s elite martyred at the site.
IT IS MORE THAN JUST KATYN. SIX MILLION JEWS COULD NOT HAVE BEEN MURDERED, NEARLY HALF POLISH, ONE AND A HALF MILLION POLES WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ENSLAVED BY RUSSIA, AND KATYN’S 22,000 BUTCHERED IF THE FREE WORLD HAD NOT TURNED A BLIND EYE.
As the perpetrators of that crime have acknowledged the holocaust of the Jewish nation and all nations have accepted the truth of what was done to the children of Israel, NOW it is time for those allied nations to honor the Polish memory, history and people. NOW, is the time for America, Great Britain and Russia to rectify what was done to Poland. NOW is the time for the truth to be told.
Let the United States of America as the symbol of democracy and those freedoms for which our founding fathers fought and held so dear and President Obama as the leader of the free world be the first to STAND UP AND PROCLAIM THE TRUTH and RESTORE honor to the records of history of World War II and declare the Polish peoples numerous contributions to many victories of that war including capturing monastery hill at Monte Cassino, Italy. To admit that what took place at Yalta was wrong. THIS IS THE LEAST THAT AMERICA CAN DO TO PAY HOMAGE TO THOSE POLISH SOLDIERS WHO GAVE THE LAST DROP OF THEIR BLOOD THAT AMERICA AND THE WORLD COULD BE FREE WHILE POLAND AND HER PEOPLE WERE DENIED THAT SAME FREEDOM.
We the people of Poland wherever we reside in the world call upon all those nations we stood by and fought with, the allies of World War II to finally acknowledge our contributions to your freedoms which you today accept as a right. We, the people of Poland have the RIGHT as the truest, friend and ally that America has ever had. Give us OUR MEMORY; OUR HISTORY, OUR HONOR, May America and Great Britain and the world remember we fought, ‘FOR OUR FREEDOM AND YOURS’."
“POLISH VALOR, MONTE CASSINO, ITALY 1944”
opened with a ceremony at Utica, NY City Hall and ran throughout the month of May. Co-sponsored by Utica City Hall and Diana Lenska, Princess and Grand Master of the Royal Order Kingdom Of Poland.
State and government officials were present
At the ceremony, The Royal Order honored veterans of Monte Cassino with a medal of honor and diploma.
What is unique about the Royal Order Kingdom Of Poland is that it was created to promote Polish history, memory, and culture outside of the Polish community. To make Americans of all ethnic backgrounds and eventually Europe aware of the enormous contributions Poland and her people made to maintain the freedom we treasure and uphold.
The April 30 exhibit began a rally to bring non-Polish and Polish people and organizations together by contacting Congress and the White House in order for the records to be opened and the truth acknowledged of the Polish contribution to the second world war.
