GOD'S PLAYGROUND

«I have thought at times of Norman Davies famous work on Poland and the often-heard quote, “
Poland is God’s Playground.”  To me, Poland has represented something more than “just” a playground for God.  In type, I see Poland as ancient Israel and how through the Jews the Scripture were given to the world and from the seed of Israel our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  In this type, Poland in her 1,000 year history has been used by God to maintain the spiritual freedom of Europe and thereby the world. By such events as the freedom of worship to the Jews under the reign of Casmir the Great.  By the event of King Jan Sobieski and his magnificent Winged Hussars saving all of Christian Europe, during the Battle of Vienna in 1683 when she would have been overrun by the Turks and Europe could now be under Islam. And in a smaller, yet to me, a very interesting type of Israel wiped from the face of the world for nearly 2,000 years to finally be reborn as a nation in 1948. I think of Poland, partitioned and wiped from the face of the earth for parts of two centuries with a vow of those nations who carved her up to,”NEVER allow Poland to return as a nation.  And yet, GOD did restore her and Poland was reborn and she now awaits her greater destiny in the events yet to unfold on the world stage.»

The Monte Cassino
Medal Of Honor and Award Diploma

The Royal Order Kingdom Of Poland is an international Knighthood membership founded in 1990 promoting the history of Poland, especially the royal history.  In 2009 the Royal Order was incorporated in New York State as a 501(c)3 Non-profit.

One of the first major projects was an official ceremony, "Remembering Polish Valor, Monte Cassino, Italy 1944", held in Utica, NY City Hall on April 30, 2010 with an exhibit of uniforms and artifacts from the battle.  Four Polish veterans were honored at the event and received Medals of Honor from HRH Princess Diana Lenska, Grand Master of the Royal Order Kingdom Of Poland.  View link of event at http://wwiipolishlhg.org/gpage.html

On September 17th of 2011 two British veterans of Monte Cassino were honored in Great Britain, Sgt. James Henry Hughes, 6th Royal Battalion, Inniskillings Fusiliers and Cpl. Stanley Jackson. To date, in 2012 two American veterans also received the Monte Cassino Medal of Honor in the USA, PFC, William B. Lowery and PFC, Richard J. Andrew. As of 2015 the Monte Cassino Medal of Honor has only been awarded to three veterans of that Battle.

The Royal Order is seeking veterans from all divisions who fought at Monte Cassino.  Medals of Honor will be awarded and recorded testimonies of the veterans will be made and a book of remembrance will be published.

The Royal Order Kingdom of Poland has printed the verbatim eye-witness account of British veteran Sgt. Sir James Henry Hughes, recipient of an honorary knighthood and Monte Cassino Medal of Honor.  Proceeds from donations for this eye-witness account will go to establishing a veterans fund in Great Britain in his name.
